Kim Tanaka

Director, Washington State Association of College Trustee

Kim Tanaka

Kim Tanaka joined the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges as Director of the Washington State Association of College Trustees (ACT) in August 2012.  Prior to her work with ACT she was an Executive Analyst for Boards and Commission with former Governor Chris Gregoire working with a variety of boards dealing with higher education and first responders.  She lives in Olympia and has 2 sons and 3 grandchildren.  In her spare time she volunteers with first responder organizations.

The purpose of the CCAE is to strengthen the development of community colleges through enrichment efforts at the state and national levels, as well as provide networking opportunities and an exchange of resources for member states serving in similar advocacy, leadership, and management roles.
